FASA 365 Day 40, the Crod. Much like the great apes of Earth.

Vegetarian. Thumb like appendages on all “hands and feet” However, the differences are clear.

Snorkel like nostrils set above the eyes. Hands and feet are flat and calloused. Shaped more like a rhinoceros rather than possessing what could be called fingers and toes. They move stomach up, and “feet?” first.

Not climbers, they prefer living near the grassy, open plains, not straying far from sheltering crevasse or caves.

They move surprisingly swiftly for their perceived awkwardness.

Artist’s Note: This was inspired by a childhood memory of a game, requiring players “crab walk”.

Funny thing, I was originally going to work on a request from Project Manager at FASA. They requested I do a concept design of a “scorpion dragonfly”. Rather than just stick a scorpion tale on a dragonfly, I opted to do the research. Imagine my surprise when I found… Scorpion Dragonflies are real, they exist.
