FASA 365 Day 232, Turcia Ibis Anatis, (Turkey Duck Owl… Turduckll) 2-3 ft.
‘Bout as sharp as a bag o’ hammers. Or as the English like to say… “Thick as two short planks”
You’d think that with eyes that big they could see trouble comin’.
Nope.
Artists Note: This is what happens when you hitch a ride on the evolutionary train… and get thrown off while the trains still movin’.
Or in this case before you evolve into whatever it is you were gonna be.
FASA 365 Day 231, Reginae Actiniaria, (Queen Anemone) 6ft. Poisonous to most sea life. Solitary.
Queen Anemone
Deep beneath the oceans waves
a monarch of the sea, she craves
to find a love to call her own.
but on her throne, she rules alone.
With outstretched arms
she welcomes all
who would embrace her
and risk to fall.
As those before
fell victim to
the cursed poisons,
deaths guarantor.
Deep beneath the ocean true
a solitary Queen in blue
holds court in hopes the clowns will bring
a love that she may call her king.
FASA 365 Day 230, Puppa Magister Blattodea, (Puppet Master Cockroach) 2-3ft. for 1879
There is an old wives tale. “If you see one cockroach, there are hundreds or more in a nest nearby.”
Consider the Puppet Master. Four venom carrying claws, numb and secure themselves under the skin and above the bone at the base of the victims skull. Two “tentacle” type appendages attach with teeth like incisors to the victim at the ears. Central tendrils drills into the ear canal and extend to the victims brain; taking control the body, and leading them back to the nest.
Let’s not dwell on the fate of said victim upon arrival.
Taken from the record of Courts Martial proceedings of Lance Corporal Oliver Davies :
Regarding the disappearance of Sergeant Major Frederick Evans:
Prosecution: “Tell me, Lance Corporal, Didn’t you find it odd; the Sgt. Maj. walking around; or rather; repeatedly, marching “face first” INTO a closed front gate?
At that hour?
In his under garments?”
Davies: The Sgt. Major put me on Nights Watch to teach me a lesson.”
Prosecution: That was not the question, Lance Corporal. But prey tell, What was that lesson?
Davies: To never again, question him or his orders.
Well Sir. He seemed pretty determined to take a walk outside the gate…
So I let him.
FASA 365 Day 229, Canis Anguis, (Dog Snake). For 1879
Talk about your rodent hunters.
Smaller than a Chihuahua.
Faster than a mongoose.
Hunts rodent and snake holes alike.
Friendly, and approachable.
However, many lost their lives initially to American adventurers; seeing a long “snake” moving quickly toward them with a waging tail as a potential rattlesnake and not that of an excited K-9.
Recognized now. Long and warm. Many a northbound mountaineer has adopted the Dog Snake, not only as companion, but carry them as neckerchief and or scarf as well.
FASA 365 Day 228, Caprae Cervi, (Deer Goat), 3-4ft.
STRONG legs for bouncing. Not leaping, not jumping… bouncing.
The fur is extremely soft for both harvesting like wool, and pelts for leather goods.
The meat is also very rich, not gamey. Cook describes it as not quite veal but not venison either.
Not sure what that means bur its awful good in a stew.
