FASA 365 Day 153, Brachyura Meles Oryctolagus Gigantus (Big Crabby Badger Rabbit). 25-50 Ft. Omnivore.
Excellent Hearing. Large front claws, akin to a crab; but fur covered like a mammals. Two smaller front paws. Centered for balance and support while claws are in use digging, defending, grabbing, and or crushing.
Hind legs have large talons for digging and or defense.
Artists Note: I had just watched the new documentary on Jim Henson. It was inspiring. I have always admired The Henson Co. and everything he did and they do. Well, there I was, inspired, and open to… anything, and I looked at the linoleum… the shapes, and the images in the marbling… and this guy jumps out. I had never seen him before… Fate?
So, he had to be drawn.
Oh, and thanks to Toni, she helped me name this one.
FASA 365 Day 152, Un-Named. And now for something very strange.
My art director (fiancĂ©) best describes this creature by asking the question… “What the Hell is THAT?”
Yup, pretty much sums it up.
Growing from the rocks and rubble, it is immobile, however the prehensile dual tongue and sharp eye… helps it to feed.
Artists QUOTE: I don’t care how big the smile is, THAT thing AIN’T friendly.
FASA 365 Day 151, Rogue Beetle. (Perfide Polin Congregantis) 1-2 Inch. Pollinator. Named for its Silhouette primarily.
The Rogue Beatle, before flight; will seemingly take a knee, as it extends one wing to test the wind. It was thought that the silhouette looked like a feather extending from a pirate hat.
In fact, the entomologist, who discovered this species and observed the behavior; while not wearing their glasses at the time; remarked “Well, aren’t you the garish rogue?”
To add to the overall ‘visual’, the Rogue Beetles “mustache” and “pantaloons” are not at all what they appear to be, but are in fact the accumulation of collected pollen.
Artist note: Yeah, I know, another whimsical one. Sorry. I really didn’t have a choice. In my defense, I must say, once he got in my head, he kept “buggin” me and I had to put him on paper.
FASA 365, Day 150, Iratus Testudo luctatorem (Angry Tortoise Wrestler), Omnivore. 12-15ft, on its heals.
Roughly the size weight and demeanor of the North American Brown Bear or Grizzly. Known to face off with Velociraptors, and win.
Called a tortoise but no visible shell. Although the razor sharp calcifications protruding from its back performs the same duties as a shell and made from roughly the same genetic material. Also THICK layered leathery skin.
Artists Note: Let’s talk about Mutant Turtles.
FASA 365 Day 149, Para Normal Precognitive Penguin.
Same size as most arctic penguins. However, this is definitely a “para normal” or “magic” flightless waterfowl. Seemingly, purported to be a psychic phenomenon for seeing the future and or predict the fate of those who find it.
The other penguins feed it, seemingly worshiping it as a Penguin deity.
Approach bearing gifts or offerings. Dont sweat it. Were not talking treasures or anything elaborate. A fish will do, it is just a penguin after all.
There are 3 heads. One seems angry, another happy, another sad. When approaching; hold your offering out and place it at the penguins feet. The head that engages is reading your past BUT, the one that takes your offering is the one that is giving you a peak or “peck” at your fate.
